Serving

Jesus said that the greatest in the kingdom is the servant of all. While we want to resist unhealthy forms of relating to others, there are powerful and right ways to serve one another that are blessings in the church and to the world. These wonderful opportunities help point people toward knowing and receiving the love of God. You'll discover opportunities to serve in the church, care for others or help in our community.

Hospital Visitation

Description

If you or someone you know is going into the hospital and would like a visit from a member of our Visitation Team, please let the church office or Kathy Rice know so one of our hospital ministers can drop by. Sometimes a quick visit, a prayer or even a friendly smile can be helpful in the healing process. Just call 541-686-9244 to let us know.

Eugene Faith Center and Sacred Heart are partnering together to communicate when someone is admitted to the hospital. If you would like Sacred Heart to automatically give the church a call if you are admitted, please fill out the form in the Community Life Book or at the Information Center. This will insure that Faith Center will be contacted if you are admitted to the hospital in the future.

Hospitality and Welcome Teams

Description

The goal of these teams is to help create a warm and inviting atmosphere so that every person feels welcome!

Greeters
Andy and Debbie Vobora, 541-998-1332
Can you welcome people with a handshake or friendly smile? Are you a “people person”? If so, consider serving as a greeter one Sunday morning per month.

HST: Health and Safety
Jim Thomas, 541-686-9244
Overseeing the safety and well-being of every person on the Eugene Faith Center campus is a high priority. The Health and Safety Team needs those interested in giving of their time and effort including people with law enforcement or security backgrounds and medical personnel such as doctors, nurses, firefighters, EMT’s and health workers. Help is needed patrolling our parking lots and general campus during all services. Two-way radios are provided. Medical personnel are needed to assist in medical situations until emergency assistance arrives. This team is on a rotating basis so no one serves more than one or two services per month. The HST is a great way to serve the needs of our congregation by using your gifts and skills to keep people safe and healthy.

Information Center
Shelly Williams, 541-686-9244
The Information Center in the Atrium is an important contact point for people to find out about classes, upcoming events and youth and children’s activities. Volunteers answer questions ranging from, “Where does my child’s class meet?” to “Do you have any programs for singles?”. You can be the answer person one Sunday or Wednesday a month. Team members are also needed to be greeters at the Atrium doors.

Resource Center
Sarah Creighton, 541-513-1528
Help “resource” others while working in the Resource Center. Volunteers are needed 20 minutes before and after each service to help our congregation purchase books, tapes and CDs. If you enjoy caring for people and can help out once or twice a month, this is a great place for you.

Ushers
Jim Thomas, 541-686-9244
This group of dedicated men and women serve on a rotational basis as our front line hospitality team inside the Worship Center during services. They greet and seat people, take up the offering and serve communion periodically.
