Men in the Mountains

In January or February, we’re planning a snowshoe trip to Bechtel shelter from Gold Lake Sno Park. It is approximately five miles round trip. If the shelter is unoccupied, and the weather is good we’ll enjoy a fire and lunch together, and then try to catch the amazing view of Diamond Peak on our hike out. You’ll need to rent or borrow snowshoes, bring food, water, warm clothes, and we’ll all need to chip in for gas and sno-park passes. Rather than plan a specific date, we’ll be waiting until a nice storm comes through and then we’ll drive up the following Saturday. If you want to be put on the list to get a text or email of when we’re going, please email with your name, phone number, and if you have a vehicle that can handle the snow.

The wilderness must be explored!
